We only collect information necessary to operate the service:

• Account data: your phone number (for verification and sign-in) and an optional name. We never ask for an email or password.

• Location: We use your location (while using the app only) to show you the nearest public bathrooms. We do not store your location on our servers or track it in the background.

• Content you submit: ratings, comments, photos, reports, and add/edit requests, with the submission time.

• Favorites: the list of bathrooms you favorited, linked to your account.

• Donations: when you donate we keep only the payment reference, amount, and status. Payment details (card/wallet) are processed by OPay and never reach us.

• Anonymous usage data: We collect anonymised data about how the app is used (e.g. search counts) to improve the service.

We use the collected information to:

• Display the nearest bathrooms to you on the map.

• Review requests, reports, and ratings by our admin team.

• Improve data accuracy and service quality.

We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

We never sell your personal data, and we only share it with service providers required to operate:

• Hosting & database: the app is cloud-hosted and data is stored in a Neon Postgres database.

• OTP verification: your phone number is sent to Akedly to deliver the sign-in verification code.

• Payments: donations are processed by OPay, which handles all payment details.

• Maps: maps are rendered via OpenStreetMap; your device connects to map tile servers to load them.

• Legal obligations: if required by law to disclose certain information.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and restricted database access. However, no method of internet transmission is 100% secure.

We retain your account data and submitted content for as long as your account exists.

You can permanently delete your account and data at any time from the Delete Account page at rahaaa.com/account-delete — deletion is immediate and covers your phone number, name, favorites, and contact details on your submissions, and invalidates sessions on all devices.

Exceptions: approved public content (kept with no link to your identity) and donation records (reference, amount, status only — unlinked from your account) for financial compliance. Encrypted backups may persist for up to 30 days.

Rahaaa is intended for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children without parental consent.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the date at the bottom of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
